St Paul’s High School became Newry and Mourne Junior Netball Champions beating Our Lady’s Grammar School, Newry 12-7 in a thrilling match.

At the end of the first half the two teams were drawn at 5-5 all, with some fine shooting and defensive work by players from both teams.

The beginning of the second half remained close at 7-7, however the St Paul’s team began to pull away with some fine shooting from Colleen Mcveigh (GS) and Kerry Garvey (GA), Supported by Tara Byrne in WA and Megan Boyle in C.

The St Paul’s defensive trio of Anna Carr, Dearbhla Wright and Sarah McCone, broke down a number of good attacks by Our Lady’s to bring the title back to Bessbrook.
