A-Level Results Day 2019

Following on from the publication of Post-16 results at A2 and AS Level as well as BTEC and OCR Cambridge Technicals last week, Principal of St Paul’s High School Bessbrook, Mr Jarlath Burns paid tribute to all the students who had excelled in this year’s public examinations.

“Once again our students have achieved exceptional results in public examinations at all levels”, said Mr Burns. “These results will ensure our students have the widest possible choice of options at third level and beyond”.

“On behalf of the Board of Governors and staff of St Paul’s, I congratulate all our students who have achieved so much this year. We celebrate, as always, their achievements and are proud of their various successes.”

Mr Burns added, “While we celebrate the successes, large and small, of all our pupils, I am conscious that there may be a few pupils who for various reasons have not achieved their first choice. I would sincerely encourage them to remember that this is not the end of the world. The content of an exam results’ envelope should not define anyone. I would encourage pupils to seize this as an opportunity for you to re-evaluate things and take a different road to perhaps the same destination. There’s nothing wrong with the scenic route to anywhere! Similarly, there’s nothing wrong with changing your mind about where you want to go.”

Mr Burns paid particular tribute to parents and the wider St Paul’s community for their support over the past year, and to his staff for their dedication and hard work in preparing the students for examinations, and for their innovation in developing new courses which have proved very successful.
