Year 8 Cross-Country Success

The District D Cross-Country Championships took place recently in Scotstown, County Monaghan.

This involved all schools from the Counties of Armagh and Monaghan and the competition was fierce.  There were 150 competitors in the Year 8 Girls’ race.  The top 15 individuals and the top three teams qualified for the Ulster Finals in Mallusk on 23rd February.

Our Year 8 girls finished in Silver medal position just a few points behind Royal School, Armagh.

Aoibhe Feehan had a superb race, finishing in 2nd place, while Blaithín Mackin was just seconds behind in 5th place and Colette McCrink in 11th position.  Other Year 8 students, Aoibheann Jones and Catherine Gahon, finished in the early 20s.

This was a great team effort and we wish them every success in the Ulster Finals at Mallusk.
