Year 9 students take part in ‘B Positive’ Programme

Pictured above is Wayne Morris from the SELB Youth Service who is currently delivering a 6 week programme entitled ‘B Positive’ to our Year 9 students.

Is your glass half empty or half full? How you answer this age-old question may reflect your outlook on life and whether you’re optimistic (a positive thinker) or pessimistic (a negative thinker), studies show that these personality qualities, optimism and pessimism can affect how well you live and even how long you live.

As part of the KS3 Learning for Life and Work course, students explore the topic of mental health.

The programme is a mental health awareness project which enables students to:

1. Work in groups to identify recurrent themes and issues
2. Understand the health benefits of positive thinking
3. Develop coping strategies when dealing with mental health issues
