Year 9 Annual Public Speaking Competition

Congratulations to all entrants in the competition. 14 pupils won through in class heats to present speeches on a range of topics, such as; inequality for women footballers in the GAA; the dangers in farming; and the tyranny of wigs, tan and make-up in Irish dancing. The standard this year was top-notch.

The winners were Erin McCullough – 1st place for her electric speech on Body Image; Kian Rigley 2nd place for his entertaining speech on littering; and Niall McGovern for his thought-provoking speech on banning homework.

Well done to everyone, to entrants and to their English teachers who helped them with their persuasive performances.
