Caolan, a keen hurler with the school and his local Craobh Rua Camlocha club will represent Armagh in the final of the Feile skills competition which will take place in Galway this Summer. St Paul’s Year 8 Home Economics students were one of ten schools in Northern Ireland who recently completed the STEM programme where Schools, the Food and Drink Industry and Science came together to carry out Science activities and to undertake a class based project focusing on food packaging.
Year 8 pupils completed against twenty two other schools from all over Northern Ireland at the Salters’ Chemistry Festival at Queen’s University Belfast. Pupils Emma Travers, Natasha Mc Clory, Niamh O’Hagan and Aisling Murphy had to carry out two experiments. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience
CITB-ConstructionSkills NI has acknowledged the academic success of the top four local students who achieved the highest grades in GCSE construction in NI for 2010.
Currently many students leave school without having been offered the opportunity to learn any emergency life support skills that could save someone’s life. All too often we have heard the comment ‘if only I had known what to do’.

It was the first year St Paul’s Under 14 Girls’ Football team has played in the Ulster Schools’ A competition.
