Vocational Education students in Year 11 recently visited the Careers Convention held in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry.

The event was facilitated by the Department of Employment and Learning, and students had the opportunity to speak with local employers.

The students participation in the visit is part of their Prince’s Trust XL programme, and throughout the day the students took part in workshops which reinforced the importance of being well presented for a job interview and the significance of having good communication skills.

The students were accompanied by classroom assistants Mrs Ann McElroy, Mrs Bronagh Nugent Mrs Joanne King and teacher in charge, Mrs Julie Simpson.
