On Wednesday 31 August, the new Year 11 pupils at St Paul’s were back to Junior Prizegiving to celebrate their achievements at Key Stage 3.
The pupils were welcomed back and congratulated by their Year Head, Mrs Maria Wilson. She was delighted with how well they had done and said that they should be excited about the new challenge that they face for GCSE.
Last years Head Boys Jack Mallon and Aaron Cinnamond presented the awards alongside last years Head Girls Karen Murphy and Ellen Daly, in what would be their final job as Head Boy / Head Girl at St Paul’s.
This year there was a new award, ‘The James Babe Memorial Cup’ for Music, in memory of a wonderful boy. James was a Year 8 pupil when he sadly passed away. His love of music and especially his talent for playing the guitar will always be remembered. Mrs Collette Babe and his sisters Hannah and Catherine presented the away to the first ever recipient, Jack Cunningham.
Mr Burns then addressed the Year 11 students, again outlining the importance of GCSEs. Form Teachers and Year Heads were presented with gifts in appreciation of their hard work and dedication.
It was a wonderful celebration of the hard work and dedication that the pupils put into their school life at St Paul’s.
