St Paul’s High School has seen a considerable upsurge in top grades at AS and A Level this year with the pupils exceeding all expectations with a rise of over 40% in A* to C grades. The staff and governors of the school were on hand today to advise students who came in to receive their results and there was a great buzz within the school. The vast majority of the pupils have been accepted onto their first choice for their course in third level education.
These results follow a very successful year in the school, which included a rating of outstanding in all areas following a general inspection in January.
Principal, Mr Jarlath Burns congratulated the students, their parents and the staff of the school in the role they all played in the exceptional performance of this year’s A level students, particularly as this is the first day of the fiftieth year of the school. He commented on the pupil’s dedicated application to study, thanking them all, and their parents and families for their support, commitment and co-operation.
He said that it important to recognise that so many students have given of their best and achieved so much in their individual A Level subjects and that he believed that the work ethic and the pastoral support that the school has given these students will stand by them in their university courses and their life beyond.”
