Arrived Sunday night in Hotel Campanile in Roissy near Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Update: Monday 29 October, 1300 GMT

Very early start in Chamonix on Sunday morning.

We then headed to Taize, and experienced really bad weather conditions en route.

Thanks to Christian, our driver, we got through the biting wind and heavy snow.

We arrived at Taize for Mass, and had a presentation on Taize from Brother Jean Luc of the community and then visited the shop where more presents were bought

We had a simple lunch in Taize and then a long trip up the road to Paris 😉

Update: Sunday 28 October, 1500 GMT

Sorry for delay in posting a new update – we’ve all been very busy.

The group all slept sound in Hotel le Prieure in Chamonix.

We had our Breakfast at 0900 and the food was glorious.

The hotel staff commented on how well our group had behaved!

We all headed down town to see the local market, weather though was disappointing, but everyone enjoyed browsing and spending,

The afternoon spent going to the top of the mountain by train to see La mer de glace, the glacier. Despite poor visibility we managed a massive snowball fight!

We toured the ice museum and then held our breath on the treacherous descent down – Mrs Nugent cant wait to go on the train again!

A few hours rest before dinner when some of the boys took in the jaccuzi! Photos to follow!

Another beautiful regional meal in the hotel eas followed by our quiz and the quizmaster extraordinaire Mr McMahon!

There was a suggestion that Mrs O’Hare cheated – but she maintains it is a scurrilous lie!

The winning team was Gerry’s Angles! Sorry Angels!

We all headed to bed after 2300 – glad of the extra hour!

We have had an early start on Sunday at 7am en route to Taize!

We’ll keep the blog updated later with more news.

Update: Saturday 27 October, 1000 GMT

Hi everyone! We had a very early start from St Paul’s at 3am! Some very sleepy heads. Our flight was on time from Dublin, and we were picked up by coach at Geneva Airport.

We had a delicious lunch in Geneva and had some fun spending Swiss Francs. Ryan Doran paid a visit to a very exclusive Louis Vuitton shop – but only for a look!

Our next stop was the United Nations tour, where we met our great guide – lots of job opportunities here! At last everyone has realised why they should be studying French!

Then we headed to CERN – which was a short visit but very interesting. we saw the world’s first internet server, without it we wouldn’t be able to do this!

We also saw the Hadron Collider. Aaron Hughes wanted to stay longer but dinner was calling in the Alps.

We arrived in Chamonix at the lovely Hotel Prieure at 7pm. It’s a gorgeous chalet style hotel. Everyone settled in very quickly and all slept sound especially in Room 312!

More news to follow later and photos.
