Comhghairdeas leis na scoláirí ó Bhliain 10 in Ardscoil Naomh Pól, An Sruthán, a tháinig sa chéad áit i dtráth ceisteanna d’eagraigh an eagraíocht Gaeilge Gael-Linn do scoláirí i gceantar Ard Mhacha Theas, an Iúir agus Múrna le déanaí. D’éirigh le Críostóir Ó Crualaoich, Seán Mac Thiarnáin, Cormac Mac Fhícheallaigh agus Niall Mac Cathmhaoil an chéad áit a bhaint amach sa quioz tábla. Bhí níos mó ná tríocha dalta ó Ardscoil Naomh Pól páirteach, chomh maith le daltaí ó scoileanna eile sa cheantar. Bhí an-spórt agus spraoi ag na scoláirí san imeacht a d’eagraigh Gael-Linn – bhí céilí agus cuideachta ann chomh maith agus seans acu an Ghaeilge atá siad a fhoghlaim sa seomra ranga a úsáid ag ócáid neamhfhoirmealta.
Congratulations to the Year 10 students from St Paul’s High School, Bessbrook, who achieved first place at the recent Gael-Linn Irish language quiz organised for schools in south Armagh and the Newry and Mourne area. The St Paul’s team featuring students Christopher Steele, John McKernan, Cormac Feeley and Niall Campbell came first place, representing more than thirty students from St Paul’s who took part in the event, as well as students from other schools in the area. The students had great fun taking part in the other activities, including a céilí, organised by Gael-Linn, and had a great opportunity to practice the Irish they have been learning in class in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
