On Thursday 5 March, pupils from both Bessbrook Primary School and St Peter’s Cloughreagh came to St Paul’s for the first BestBall tournament of the year.
BestBall is a cross curricular initiative being run by St Paul’s as part of the schools Shared Education Programme. For the past four months, two placement students David McCabe and Michael Murphy, have been in both schools coaching Best Ball (a modified form of Olympic Handball).
On Thursday 5 March the schools came together to show off the skills they have learned over the course of the programme. In total 80 pupils participated with over 40 matches played in a hugely enjoyable festival.
This culminated in Sweden winning the overall tournament with Ciarrai Mullen being named as player of the tournament.
The PE department would like to thank everyone who was involved in the tournament, particularly both schools, their coaches, 7th Year BTEC Sport students and our Canteen staff who provided lunch on the day.

Great initiative, enjoyed by all and especially some not that interested in other sports. Love the action shots.
