Forty-Nine Year 13 pupils studied ECDL (European Computer Driving License) from September 2010 until the end of March 2011.
Calling all young people in the Parish of Lower Killeavy (Lislea, Lisummon, Camlough, Bessbrook, Cloughreagh) There will be a Celebration of Mass for all those sitting exams in Years 12, 13 and 14 in the parish, from all our schools. Year 12 and 14 students, joined their parents and teachers at special Masses of Blessing before their exams. The masses were celebrated by School Chaplain, Father Dermot Maloney, and the students were addressed by their Years Heads, Mrs Mary McMahon (Head of Year 12) and Mrs Pauline Mc Guinness (Acting Head of Year 14).
Students from Years 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 competed in Feis Ard Mhacha on Tuesday 19th April. The students represented their school in the competitions ‘Poem Recitation’ and in ‘Oral Examinations’.
There was great success for the three choirs, orchestra, traditional group, ethnic percussion groups and string quartet at the recent Newry feis.
As part of the Sharing Education Project (SEP) the Learning for Life and Work departments within St Paul’s High School and Newtownhamilton High School have been working together on a unit of work entitled My Cultural Identity over the past year.
